Help find quote - Lynch recutting the film for Cannes

Someone posted this quote here a long time ago. It was from someone who worked on the film, can't remember who, saying Lynch recut and changed the tone of the film for Cannes, especially the scene of Laura's murder. Does anyone remember this? I really can't find it on Google.

Very interesting area - I feel that the original edit of the murder scene would have been best. Even though I do like the angels imagery and celestial music, I just feel like Lynch may have compromised on this aspect a little too much.
