The list looks a bit more wonderful and strange here in Finland which is great!Radiatorlady wrote:hbonordic.com in Norway:

Those are fantastic lists! So happy to see it is appreciated by more people internationally, and up against all those great shows.

So after a positively received episode, the show goes to a series low (excluding episodes 3 & 4 here since they were available for a week before they aired).
It will be interesting to see which way the ratings go after episode 8.

The 1-week break might cause a bump when it comes back. But, I think the week after that you have Game of Thrones (not sure if Twin Peaks' timeslot moves an hour later, which in turn could cause a small dip if it airs later .. or a ravaging if it airs across from Game of Thrones penultimate season).Esselgee wrote:So after a positively received episode, the show goes to a series low (excluding episodes 3 & 4 here since they were available for a week before they aired).

I thought when Ray Donovan started airing that Twin Peaks timeslot was going to move UP an hour. 7 central time instead of 8 (which is when it airs now). I'm not sure when that will be.Rudagger wrote:The 1-week break might cause a bump when it comes back. Ray Donovan starts on August 6th. So only 4 more episode of TP at its current time.

Note that the share is the same (0.11) indicating that fewer americans in general watched TV sunday night.

Yes, but you would not expect to see any ratings bump until the following week, after the episode has aired.Esselgee wrote:So after a positively received episode, the show goes to a series low (excluding episodes 3 & 4 here since they were available for a week before they aired).

That being said, I do not expect the ratings to change very radically during the rest of the run of the series. The audience I believe will grow over years and decades, but not necessarily over weeks. And it will be a mostly streaming and DVD audience.
Fu*& the ratings! as Diane would say...

I think he meant that Part 7 was positively received, so one would have expected part 8 to have higher ratings.mtwentz wrote:Yes, but you would not expect to see any ratings bump until the following week, after the episode has aired.Esselgee wrote:So after a positively received episode, the show goes to a series low (excluding episodes 3 & 4 here since they were available for a week before they aired).

Very curious if this episode had a big uptick in onDemand and Showtime app viewing, given all of the buzz.

Seems a bit early for a petition, no? Besides, the best way to get Showtimes attention is to get the ratings up, rather than signing a petition while the show is still on the air, or for actual subscribers to write to their actual providers and just state that they signed up specifically for David Lynch.Wonderful & Strange wrote:Sign the petition for season 4!

It's a bit different when a shows off-air and so you have some unknown factor in the metrics (what percentage of these people will pay for the show, what percentage will actually watch it, etc.), but, when you have a petition going up half way through a show's run worrying about ratings? There are more productive ways to help the show.
