Wait! She can't be- she didn't disappear on death, and I don't think tulpas get angel escorts to the white lodge
I'm back in style!
Re: Part 16 - No knock, no doorbell (SPOILERS)
Will we find out how Miriam's surgery went? And which one is her real last name?
It's looking like we won't get any of scheming Ben Horne this time around which is disappointing.

Regarding electrocutoin, I was always told that "it's the volts that jolts, but the mills that kills" (mills= milliamps!).
I see that some have complained that Cooper could simply have woken up earlier, what's the point, etc. My reading of this is that if he had somehow seen Sunset Boulevard in, say, episode 5, that wouldn't have been enough to get him to realise what to do. He has had to have several clues to jolt his memory (e.g. coffee, pie), and he has indeed already stared at a socket without knowing what to do with it. Only after prolonged exposure to these clues was he able to come back.
This is what I was hoping the story would be, so I'm now delighted. They've potentially made a 2 hour, Cooper-heavy sequel to FWWM, but with a lot of entertaining build up that we've already seen.

Before this thing started, most of us thought he would get just a cameo, so we're grateful he's gotten any storyline at all.Esselgee wrote:Will we find out how Miriam's surgery went? And which one is her real last name?

But that being said, I also would have loved to see more scheming Ben Horne.

Hah! I didn't think of that. Hmm . . . maybe it was her tulpa in the Red Room. But when she opened her face, there was nothing but white light - the other tulpas, Diane and Dougie, emitted some sort of weird black smoke when they imploded, so they seem different to me - like when Sarah Palmer opened her face in the bar - maybe she is a tulpa, too. Maybe all of the Twin Peaks characters are tulpas and just iterations of people who have existed before. Maybe none of them are actually "real." My brain is exhausted.TheGum wrote:Wait! Oh my gosh, yes! The Giant created her tulpa, and he sent her to the waiting room until it was time for her to appear in the story from behind those red theatre curtains! The White Lodge is a theatre, she is created from the Fireman's mind like an artistic creation, and she is sent to the Red Room to wait behind the theatre curtains until it is time for her scene. Sorry - just picked up on the theatre connection between the White Lodge and Red Room.ThumbsUp wrote:Maybe! Does one need a bit of DNA from the source material though? I think we can definitely expect Laura to show up in some capacity though for the finale.I'm the Muffin wrote:Could the Fireman in episode 8 have been creating Laura's tulpa?ThumbsUp wrote:With this last episode so heavy on tulpa exposition and explanation, I'm guessing at least one more will be created before all is said and done.
I'm thinking that it will be Laura ("Laura is the one," "I am dead yet I live," on and on and on). She could confront Bob, Mr. C, her mom, or the Mother.

I still think that "two birds, one stone" implies a relation between the two. Maybe from the same seed??thisisme wrote:Apologies if this is mentioned earlier in the thread, I haven't had chance to read though properly.
Two birds, one stone. Richard and Linda.
Richard died on a (large) stone.
EDIT: Obviously, this is indeed mentioned previously. We'll be back at that place in the final 2 hours for sure.
I don't think that Richard and Linda are twins (despite how that would totally fit the dopple-narrative) but I can't shake the feeling that Norma's "family" is Linda, and that Linda is Annie's child.
Now, the question then becomes; is Linda Coopers daughter, or dopplecoop's daughter?
Is Linda the good to Richard's evil?

What if Linda is Diane's child? Linda Evans!? (Sorry couldn't resist, plus if the real Diane has been blinded and silenced and hidden in nonexistence all this time, she couldn't have given birth).

Fair enough. Let's get all Ohmy on this. Absent sufficient voltage, the resistance of the human body will prevent the amperage required to kill. To your point, unless he stuck electrodes into his body on either side of his heart, it is highly unlikely that the resistance could be reduced to the point where the full 15 amps allowed by a typical residential circuit could flow through his heart.Ragnell wrote:Just correcting you for safety: its not voltage, its current (amperage) that kills you. 15 amps is enough but to die from it he'd have to had made a circuit where it passes through his heart. Voltage only matters when high enough to burn you, which is why there's a warning for high voltage.BigEd wrote:You can't get electrocuted from 120 volts even if you stick your tongue in a light socket while standing in a bathtub. This was the "fire, that's like modern electricity" that he was receiving.DeepBlueSeed wrote: And then I remembered Dougie had been electrocuted, and wasn't going to be able to 'fix' them. Ah well.
So yeah, it was a magic shock he got.

Holy, it's damn tulpa mania in here now. Cooper's a tulpa! Laura's a tulpa! Audrey's a tulpa! Richard's a tulpa! The whole town is a tulpa! The entire SHOW is a tulpa! Yikes. I hope the show itself doesn't go down any absurd paths with this. I thought the Diane tulpa was an interesting twist, but this could get silly fast.

Thoughts? Owl?
Whatever it was, I took it as a foreshadowing of their deaths, along with Chantal down to her last pack of chips & Hutch's brief story about the guy who died.

Only a tulpa would say something like that.thedarktrees wrote:Holy, it's damn tulpa mania in here now. Cooper's a tulpa! Laura's a tulpa! Audrey's a tulpa! Richard's a tulpa! I don't know if there's enough screen time to weave the backstory, but I'll wonder if we'll find out that the Annie in season 2 was a Tulpa. I'm still finding it hard to believe that the iconic final line of the original series won't get some kind of resolution.zeronumber wrote:.........with only one mention in the script so far;
