Dune - Imperial County
Hi everyone,
I'm still trying to track down various David Lynch movie sites.
I keep finding Imperial County, California, listed as a filming location for Dune. The only one outside the Mexico sound stages.
Has anybody got anymore information about this, as I hope to going there for a visit in a few months.
Thanks,
Bernie

Try going over to dunenovels.com and ask Byron (Frank Herbert's grandson and the administrator.)
I think he might know--or peruse that message board for details.
Hope that helps!

Hey Bernie, I saw you registered on the Dune board! I forgot to tell you that Byron has the username of boardadmin--or maybe you figured that out. And I am not Annie over there....but I don't post much.

Re: Dune - Imperial County
Bernie, I just perused the Dune board and decided to ask Byron about the US filming sites; never knew about it before.
We'll see what he has to say. I use the name Serena over there, because she (and her baby) was THE cause for the Butlerian Jihad.
Oh, no, now, I'm really showing my Dune geekiness...

Ha-Ha! I like your geeky style - made me smile!
I did track down Byron thanks to you and I've had some joy on the Big Tuna Wild at Heart location I asked you about a few months ago. A certain Mr Gifford kindly showed me the way.
Bernie - just always boring old Bernie, no matter what site I'm posting on x

Re: Dune - Imperial County
Well, if you can find those old sites where parts of the movie was made, take lots of pictures and post them in here! Glad I could be of help.

Re: Dune - Imperial County
Imperial County, CA is just north of the Mexico border and contains some magnificent dunes. Some of the exteriors were shot there. Dave said the actors were just miserable in the rubber suits at 110 degrees plus.

Thanks John; I always like to hear your little goodies!
Bernie: I saw your request on Duneinfo.com--did you get any results yet??

No, sorry Annie, no information as yet.
I'm quite happy with a visit to Imperial County, which is listed, as has now been confirmed by Jeff.
But I will keep you in the loop!
